The following is an excerpt from Hondo’s much-anticipated book, “Saved from What?”
“For this reason also, God highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 NASB
Every knee will bow do you know what that means? That means that if you are a joint heir, and you pray in Jesus’ name, cancer has to bow its knee, divorce has to bow its knee, drug addiction has to bow its knee. Sin of any kind that you can imagine has to bow its knee. Not just sin, but things under the curse have to bow its knee also. We don’t have believers trained to understand that we are joint-heirs with Jesus. When you pray in Jesus’ name, and you are a believer, things have to listen, they don’t have a choice.
I was visiting my friend last week, and he shared a situation that was bothering him. When I left his home that day, I stopped at the end of his street, prayed, and sent angels to go minister to that situation. It wasn’t twenty-four hours later, and God began to move. I used the same principles on him that he had taught me to use. God had to move, why? Because I’m a joint heir with Jesus and when I pray in Jesus’ name, He has to honor it. He doesn’t have a choice. If God doesn’t honor His Word, then God is a liar, and we all know that God isn’t a liar.
“For who has known the mind of the Lord, that He will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:16 NASB
We need to start looking at every situation through the mind of Christ. If you don’t know what that means, it’s when other people are doing things they shouldn’t, and you know you can’t control them. You can’t make others behave or do the right thing. You need to stop worrying, getting into strife, or getting angry when you can’t control people. What we do know is, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. So, when we pray in Jesus’ name, there are things we can control when they directly impact us.
“Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham. The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the Gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, ‘All the nations will be blessed in you.” Galatians 3:7-8 NASB
Jesus preached the Gospel, we are commanded to preach the Gospel, we have people who are only sharing a sliver of the Gospel along with some crap that isn’t even the Gospel. It tells us here that we are heirs with Abraham when we become children of the promise.
“In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him, nothing came into being that has come into being.” John 1:1-2 NASB
The Word was there in the beginning. See, before the start, God knew what the gospel message was. He wanted to redeem people from spiritual death through salvation. His intention in the garden was that there would never be death. But He is all-knowing, and He knew it was going to come, so He preached the Gospel. He wants us to walk in abundance and prosperity in our finances, and He wants us to walk in healing and blessing. That was the Gospel from the very beginning. God is telling us that the promise He gave Abraham, that is the Gospel.
God gave the same Gospel to Noah that He gave to Adam, and He has given it to us today. Most people think they are only saved from hell. They think I’ve got to hold on here until I can get to heaven. You have heard the hymn, ‘It will be worth it all when we see Jesus.’ We are not supposed to live our lives on earth, just making it by until we get to heaven. We, as believers, should want to walk in the blessing. How many reading this desire to be fighting stage four cancer, or fighting another disease? How many want a wife that cannot have children? How many want to live in poverty and lack? How many want to know that you are on your way to hell, and there is no chance for you? NO! You don’t want any of that!
“So then, those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer. For as many as are the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the law, to perform them.’ Now that no one is justified by the law before God is evident; for the righteous man shall live by faith. However, the law is not of faith; on the contrary, He who practices them shall live by them. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, for it is written, cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Galatians 3:19-14 NASB
Nobody can live under the law. Have you ever been in legalistic churches that wonder why their children, when they turn eighteen, move out and don’t go to church anymore? Or if they do go to church, they don’t stay? It’s because of legalism, it beats them over the head. There is no grace shown. I’m not talking about cheap grace where you can go move in with your boyfriend and be fornicators or adulterers and think God is going to bless you because you are under grace, and you go to church every Sunday. I have never understood people that live in sin. Still, they go to church on Sunday, lift up their hands to Jesus, speak kind Jesus words, then they go out feeling great about themselves like He doesn’t know what they do the other six days. Paul is telling the church of Galatia here, “You can’t live under the law.” Everything you read in Deuteronomy 28 that talks about the Abrahamic blessing, which is yours if you are a believer!
