“A Joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22 NASB

I can do all things that strengthens me, and I can do all things through Christ’s joy.  That joyful heart is like a medicine.  You can’t go to a pharmacy and get that kind of medicine.  Whether it is broken marriages, finances, children running from God, sickness, or disease, it doesn’t matter, a joyful heart is like medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.  Be around happy people.  Joy is medicine.  When faith doesn’t seem to be working, check your joy thermometer, are you walking through life with joy?  Some of you spend your whole life working to pay bills, and there is no joy.  You may own a cottage or a boat but never enjoy it because you are working all the time to pay the debt.

“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law.”  Galatians 5:22-23 NASB

Your attitude determines your altitude, and your joy impacts your attitude.  Joy, which God says, is one of your strengths, is one of the fruits of the spirit.  That is why it is essential to be baptized in the Holy Spirit; it is important to speak with tongues.  The Bible says we are not allowed to judge sinners, but we are allowed to judge the fruit of the people who claim to be believers.  Why does He say we can judge the fruit?  Because He is talking about believers.  What is the fruit?  It says it is Galatians 5 when you look at someone who says they are a believer, do they have joy?  Are they full of love?  Do they have patience, and are they kind?  Are they full of goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control?  Remember, we looked at what Revelation says about adding or taking away from the Bible?  How many people have you heard talk about the gifts of the spirit or the way the Holy Spirit manifests and says, well, that is of the devil?  How many of those people’s lives are devoid of joy?

Don’t spend your life fighting with religious people.  Stay in joy.  Some of you have gotten saved and are arguing with your family because they want to believe religion.  Let them go and love them, don’t argue with them; it is ignorance gone to seed.  If they’re going to live their lives without walking in truth, then let them.  There are tons of people out there that you can reach and with whom you can build relationships. When faith doesn’t seem to be working, tell yourself, I can do all things through the joy of the Lord that strengthens me.
