Looking again at Romans 8:14, talking about those being led by the Spirit. Led here, remember is showing action. Many churches will get you saved, and it stops there. After you get saved, you need to be discipled on how to live a Spirit-led life. Once you start learning that and the Holy Spirit begins to direct you, the Bible says that the Lord orders the steps of a righteous man. You will know what step is ok to take and which ones aren’t because the Spirit of God will lead you.
Look at Mark 11 in the amplified,
“Jesus replied, ‘Have faith in God [constantly]. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ And does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power] but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’s will]. For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you.’” Mark 11:22-24 Amplified
In the NASB, it says they will be granted to you. It’s a heavenly grant. When a non-profit organization is doing something, they apply for a grant. A grant is a blessing given to you. You didn’t have to pay for it.
Look at John 16,
“In that day you will not [need to] ask Me about anything. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name [as My representative], He will give you.” John 16:23 Amplified
This is talking about another grant. Jesus based, or Word-based, is where we live our life. If you base your life on Jesus and the Word, your life will operate at a whole different level. When you are this person, the things you ask for are going to be in line with God’s will. I have heard people pray for something, asking, “God, if it is your will.” I don’t mean to be rude but read your Bible and find out what God’s will is for your life.
If you are going to live a Spirit-led life, you need to spend time in God’s Word. Look at 1 Kings 18,
“Elijah came near to all the people and said, ‘How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.’ But the people did not answer him a word.” 1 Kings 18:21 NASB
That is just like religious people; they are stuck and don’t know what to do. I know a person that was an adulterous, liar, strife causer, gossip, and I could go on. When you walked into their house, they had all the Jesus signs, playing Jesus music, went to church. That is who they were. That person came to a 1 Kings moment where they had to decide how long they were going to be between two opinions. Were they going to serve God or serve the world? The Bible tells us in Revelation that because you were neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm that He is going to spew you out of His mouth. The word spew means violently, or projectile vomit. God is going to violently projectile vomit you away from Him if you stand between two opinions. That is deep; Spirit-led people understand that they don’t operate between two opinions. In my family, we live and operate on faith.
Spirit-led people don’t stand between two opinions. This is why churches that want to be run by boards or committees are in the wrong. The Bible says there is wisdom in a multitude of counselors, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have people you are listening to. I know churches that take things to vote, and it is a tie, and they can’t decide. Churches get split over this type of thing. In a marriage, men should not be saying, submit to me, I’m the man, or I’m the boss. A husband is supposed to be the head of his wife, and as long as he is living a life submitted to Christ, he is the head of his home, you cannot get away from that it is Biblical. But you know, when you realize that 90% of the things that happen in your marriage are not faith things, just let your wife have her way. Who cares how your wife decorates the house, or how she moves the furniture around? Some of you are so busy trying to control your family, but when you let your wife have her way, then when you go to her and say, this is what God wants us to do, she trusts you. She knows if you miss it, you will come back and apologize. She knows God will honor her because she is submitted.
